We Did It!!! The Flash Dance is History

What an unbelieveable experience!! More than 100 people (babies, kids, teens, moms, dads, nurses, offices workers, teachers and many others) were strolling down George and Market Street in downtown York today at 12:28 pm. At 12:30 pm, the traffic stopped, music sounded, and one by one, people broke out in dance . . . . on the street . . . . on the square . . . . a Square Dance!!! While people danced on the square, a volunteer film crew recorded the action for YouTube. Our film director is Justin Ayers -- an inspired NYU film student. He placed 7 cameras around the squared, film it, will edit it and post it on YouTube. Lori Pergament and Mindy Fritz of Greater York Dance choreographed it.

I've never worked with 100 more different people from all walks of life who pulled together, had great fun and ROCKED THIS TOWN!!! I'm beyond proud. What a great way to promote the Governor's Awards. And what a great way to prove that the arts are for everyone, not just "artists."
