Dixie Hummingbirds

The Governor's Arts Awards got a nice plug during the Arts Rally at the Capitol today. . . . . the 2006 Artists of the Year -- Dixie Hummingbirds -- sang spontaneously. I'm guessing nearly 400 people from across the state were crammed in the main rotunda calling on the legislature to restore funding for the arts. It was a very empowering experience.

    We are glad the York arts community sent a contingent. Arts funding is crucial for revitalizing our town - and many others like York. If you haven't contacted your state legislators, what are you waiting for?
